One of my cliant reqires to change detail of my products. I wonder who has a power of determination of that? I am a designer and also a maker. So I can make it, that my idea, but the shop will not sell it. Another shop may sell my idea. It is funny. Course someone refuses but another likes. Hundreds types of favor is existence in the world! Do not mind!

Colouring

I have found colouring on leather! There are antique and fire works finishing. They will give a good impression. I will use that technique to my products.

Colour

I am using 5 colours for shoes. I want to use more but buyers normally have no idea what they should buy. I mean, They can imagine only traditional colours such as bluck,brown, baige and navy. So if I have many colours, I will not use colours except traditionals. That is no meaning to keep and loss profit. Recently I have an idea to put colours on leathers of my stocks. even if someone requires radical image, I will be able to accept it!

I think pricing is the most difficult and important work for business. When I decide how much new models are, I always struggle. The reasonable is important but material cost and working cost are not so cheaper than expectation. The value of my products is good, I think. Next stage of pricing is proving how good value my products have.

I am asked if I can make special order sometimes. Of course it depends on order. But basicly I am trying to make it. It is good time for braking through myself. It will give me some new ideas.

I am going to use copper board. It will used for accessories tray. I t will be between an upper leather and bottom one for keeping shape. But that is so expensive! I have not expexted such a cost.

9inch boots

I made 9 inch boots for a first time. I had not been interested in this length. So I could not imagine how I feel. Actually I will not buy this length. But I am interestesd in it as a designer. I prefer long boots like riding boots.

A boots length strongly affect on design. If it is slightly higher or lower than consumers demand, that is seemed boring design. Even if a designer like and think suitable that height.

My products are liked by organizers who hold trade shows. I think they do not need to care about sales just need lots type of fashion to seem a trendy show. Exhibiters and buyers have to get good sales. The point of view is different in both side. That reason sometimes makes trouble. But I believe the most important things are positive thinking and solving problems by my potential.

Hand stitch

Some of my leather accessories are stitched by hand. That is an accent of design. When I stitch big products like brief case, I need long time. When I do small one like lighter case, I struggle. So that work is one of my week point!

I am drawing shoes design for next collection. The collection is for spring/ summer 2006. I always struggle to step forward. When I decide theme or story, I will enjoy draw designs. I am using Italian leather for upper and French one for lining. I also using Italian for out sole and heel. I am only using domesitic one for insole. That smell is disgusting!! When I was in London, I used British leather for in and out sole. That was lovely sweet smell. I can not get it now. But I want to use it again!

I am attending exhibition twice/ a year. I get orders at that time. Other exhibiters made their products in their factiries. I think I am the only one who make products by myself. Buyers can not find me so easy. Because others cost money to seem gorgeous. But I am making my booth simply. That style represents my opinion. I do not need lots order, just want to need good retail partners who understand what I think. I have some good partners and need some more at this morment.

The shoe maker who makes on bench, has back ache. I also have it. Because they sit a chair for kids. Knee hold is quite important for shoe making, so that type of chair is good size. That is the reason why shoe makers have such a occupational disease.

When I stick an out sole on a upper, I sometime stitch up. I open a hole by an awl and through thread, which is stucked 2 bristles on both side, one by one suround the out sole. Sometime I like, other time I do not like this.

Adhesive

When I make shoes, I use an adhesive some times. Actually that smell is not good at health of course. I do not like it but have to use. When I put and spread it, mosquito or fly is flying at me!!

Comfortable but sexy

I am making shoes on a new last( shoe form). That is very comfortable feeling but also having good shape. The toe shape is slightly peaky oval and shallow. This is gonna be a hit model!!

Finishing

The end of shoe-making is lace up and polishing. When I lace and tie up, I always think what kind of customer purchase this and if shoes will be loved. When I polish it, I always want to keep and not to leave.

I think orthopedic shoes has boring design. Everyone knows that is comfort and good for feet health. But no one has an idea that draw excellent design on such an awkward shape except me. I love this season except hay fever!! Last summer, it was hotter. So this season is worse than ever!, TV said. My nose was always runnnig and blocked. My condition is getting better now. That means sticky summer is back!

Holiday!!

From 29th April to 8th of May is holiday week in Japan. We call' Golden week'. I went to a museum and saw works of a German contemporary artist. These are incredible!! The name is Stephan Balkenhol. I strongly recommend his art if you have ever seen his work.
